Neti Pot

Do you experience seasonal allergies or a stuffy nose when you have a cold?

If so, a Neti pot may help you breathe easier. It has helped me over the years and has reduce the number of sinus headaches I get. Also called nasal irrigation, this technique flushes out your nasal cavity and loosens mucus.

We have microscopic hair like structures called cilia in our nose that helps mucus release naturally.  Using a Neti Pot is said to help cilia get rid of particles, like pollen and allergens more efficiently.

By using a Neti Pot you are able to clear away mucus and allergens that can clog and irritate the nose.

It is very important to ONLY USE DISTILLED water and appropriate Neti Pot salts.

While you are experiencing symptoms it’s recommend that you use this effective nasal irrigation technique 1-2 to times a day, and extended daily use is not suggested.

A Neti Pots comes in a couple of varieties. One looks like a mini teapot and can be glass or plastic, I prefer glass, another is a squeeze bottle, this one is better for kids.

Simply add the salt to the Neti Pot, warm the distilled water then add to the pot.  Hold the opening of the bottle or the pot to your nose, tilt your head  and pour in one nostril. It will come out the other nostril. Use half the pot then switch sides.

I highly recommend this natural way to breathe easier during allergy and cold seasons.

Stay well,
